Artist Description

This photo is from Machu Picchu in Peru. I went with my two brothers after completing the Salkantay trek late the previous night. We had permits to hike to the peak of Huayna Picchu and by the time we came back down to the main park, it had started to rain so much if the crowd had left to take cover in the restaurant and shops outside the park gates. My brother's and I didn't give up so easily as this was a life long dream to be in Machu Picchu and we wanted to explore it fully. We started the walk up to one of the viewpoints and passed by this little patch of grass where two alpacas were grazing. The rain had stopped and cleared up around the ruins only leaving these amazing dark clouds surrounding the mountains in the background. This is where I took this photo, framing the Alpacas as the main subject surrounded by the ruins of Machu Picchu with stormy skies and no other humans in sight. This is one of my favourite photos I've captured and I'm happy to have it available for you here.
